New GCSE Grading Structure

He became a passionate supporter of the school which at the time was facing major difficulties and potential closure.  Along with former headteacher Mr Hulland, current headteacher Mr Hampson and members of the Senior Leadership Team the school survived the threat of closure and went on to become identified as one of the first ‘Outstanding’ schools by Ofsted inspectors.

“One of the things I’m very passionate about is that all schools provide the same level of education, whether they are grammar schools or comprehensive schools. Staff at Alder Grange School have worked extremely hard to provide an excellent education for children in Rossendale, and one of the highlights of my time at the school was when it was identified as one of the first ‘outstanding’ schools by inspectors.”

Jo Griffiths, Head of School said: “Lawrence is a very deserving recipient of the MBE. As a school we are very grateful for the many years he has selflessly given to the school.”

Well done Mr Forshaw and thank you for your continued support!
