A group of 34 students enjoyed a trip of a lifetime skiing in Claviere, Italy, which saw them snow shoeing up a mountain and bum boarding. During the trip students from year 8 to 12 also enjoyed a trip to a campfire, hot chocolates in tipis, a disco, shopping and a day skiing across the border into Montgenevre, France. As well as having fun on the slopes the GCSE P.E pupils used the trip as part of their assessment.

Paul Butterworth, assistant Curriculum Leader for mathematics who organised the trip said: “The ski trip was a fantastic ‘once in a lifetime’ experience for our pupils who had the chance to participate in a range of adventurous activities that they might not otherwise be able to do.

“They had four hours a day skiing during the six days we were there, and spent one-day skiing across the border into France.

“The highlight of the trip was the progress everyone made. We had a range of abilities from experienced black slope skiers to absolute beginners and by the third day everyone had successfully skied down red slopes.”
