Alder Grange School is a National Support School and Leading Edge School. In these roles, it plays an active part in supporting other schools primarily in Lancashire with school improvement projects, and promoting the sharing of best practice. Alder Grange School is an active member of the East Lancashire Schools’ Support Alliance (ELSSA) which is a partnership of like-minded schools which collaborate with each other to further improve school standards.
The school has on its staff six Specialist Leaders in Education (SLE), three Lead Practitioners (LP) and a Specialist Practitioner in Education (SPE) who have all conducted work in and with others schools in recent times.
Examples of such support range from visits of staff from other schools to Alder Grange, to formal secondments (full-time and part-time) of Alder Grange staff to other schools.
Staff from Alder Grange School have presented case studies of their work at both regional and national events, including the Leading Edge National Conference.
