Curriculum Intent

Our intent is to promote sport and Physical activity as an enjoyable subject that encourages participation within lessons, local sport and up to National level, with a focus on success, sportsmanship and healthy lifestyle.  Engage students to build on their sporting knowledge by developing their theoretical understanding of the subject in KS4 and KS5.

  • To install positive attitudes towards physical activity.
  • To encourage wider participation in sports and activity for the health and mind benefits.
  • To provide knowledge of the importance/ benefits of sport and activity in society, physiologically and psychologically.
  • To encourage our pupils to strive for excellence and reach their true potential, gaining resilience in the process and sharing in others’ success.
