Early Help can include a wide range of support depending on each family’s needs. This might involve advice and guidance from school staff, emotional or pastoral support for pupils, help to improve attendance or routines at home, or referrals to specialist services for more specific support.

When additional help is needed, we can complete an Early Help Assessment (EHA). This is a voluntary process that brings together the child, their family and the professionals who work with them to look at what is going well, what the challenges are, and what support could make a difference. It ensures that families only have to tell their story once, and that everyone involved works together towards shared goals.

At Alder Grange, our Early Help approach is rooted in strong relationships, clear communication and a belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive. Working together with families and external partners, we aim to support pupils to feel safe, happy and successful both in and out of school.
