Good afternoon
We hope you have all had a relaxing summer and we are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Wednesday 2nd September.
Year 7 pupils should arrive at 8.45 to be ready for registration at 8.50 ( the new start time for the school day) and Yr8 – Yr11 at 11am. Please don’t forget phone pouches. Year 7 pupils will be given theirs on Wednesday.
All pupils should arrive by 8.45 ready for registration at 8.50 every day from Thursday onwards.
Uniform reminders
As you prepare for the new school year, please could I remind you about uniform requirements:
- Shoes: These cause the most challenges (and as a parent I fully understand the arguments that I know these can cause!) so we try to keep our policy simple. Shoes should be plain black and leather or leather-look, not canvas, and not trainers with mesh coverings or coloured logos. If in doubt please contact us in school and we can advise.
- Trousers: these should be grey (not black) and tailored. Leggings are not an acceptable uniform item. Tailored grey shorts are allowed all year.
- Skirts: Also grey and worn with tights or socks. These should be a sensible length and not rolled up – we will be focussing on this in September.
- Jewellery: only one single small stud earring per ear and a watch. No rings, bracelets, necklaces, nose piercings, etc, at all.
- Nails & make-up: No nail varnish or false nails, no false lashes. Make-up if worn should be natural and minimal.
- Hair: Natural colour, no bright pink etc.
- Hoodies: Cannot be worn at school at any time. In cold weather a school jumper or plain, v-neck navy blue jumper can be worn. Hoodies worn in school will be confiscated.
We have plenty of nearly-new uniform in school through our uniformd shop – a link is on the website, and here uniformd shop
Also, please remember to top up your child’s lunch account via ParentPay.
Yours faithfully
Mrs Griffiths
